École St. Stanislaus is a single track French Immersion School. Our program is for children whose first language is not French. Your child can be bilingual even if you do not speak French! The gift of a second language is a wonderful opportunity to give your child!
French Immersion is a program in which French is the language of instruction for a significant part of the school day. The objective is full mastery of the English language and functional fluency in French, as well as an understanding and appreciation of French culture. After completing Grade 12, your child will:
- Have achieved a high proficiency in English
- Have retained his or her own cultural identity
- Be functionally fluent in French, that is:
- Be able to live, work and pursue post-secondary education in French
- Have an understanding and appreciation of francophone culture
- Be better able to appreciate other languages, cultures and communities throughout Canada and around the world
